Over 40 Years of Australian Catamaran Manufacturing
The story of NCA Catamarans began in 1983 when we first entered the Australian catamaran industry as a dealer and fleet supporter.
In 1985, we commenced local manufacturing, designing and building catamarans specifically suited to Australian conditions. What started as a small operation soon grew into one of Australia’s longest-running catamaran manufacturers.
Over the past four decades, we have continuously developed, refined, built and supported catamarans for racers, families, sailing schools, clubs, resorts and commercial operators throughout Australia and around the world.
In addition to developing our own Australian-designed models, we played a significant role in introducing, promoting and supporting many of the catamaran models produced in both the United States and Europe. For more than 40 years, we have provided sales, manufacturing, fleet support, parts supply, technical assistance, class administration and event support for Australian sailors.
Many of the boats we built decades ago are still actively sailing today — a testament to the durability, quality and practical design philosophy that remains at the heart of every boat we produce.

Alongside these models, we have also produced numerous resort, club, sailing school and commercial fleet catamarans that have operated throughout Australia, the Pacific and overseas markets.
Our involvement has always extended far beyond manufacturing. We have supported sailing clubs, schools, resorts, hire fleets, national championships, state championships and class associations, helping introduce thousands of sailors to the sport of catamaran sailing.
Since 1994, Warren Guinea has served as President of the Queensland Catamaran Association and has been actively involved in the organisation and support of countless state and national championship events. His commitment to the sport includes competing in 42 consecutive State and National Championship regattas without missing a single title event since 1984.
Equally important has been the contribution of Ross Guinea, who has spent countless hours supporting sailors at regattas, championships and club events throughout Australia. Whether repairing boats on the beach, helping competitors solve technical problems, supplying parts, or offering practical advice, Ross has always been passionate about keeping sailors on the water.
His philosophy has remained simple: if sailors have travelled long distances to attend an event, they deserve the opportunity to race and enjoy themselves. Much of this support has been provided voluntarily over many decades and has helped countless sailors get back on the water when their event may otherwise have been over.
Together, this commitment to service, support and community has helped ensure strong fleets, active competition, technical development and long-term support for catamaran sailors throughout Australia.
Our boats have been sailed by beginners learning the sport, families enjoying weekends on the water, resort guests discovering sailing for the first time, and championship sailors competing at the highest levels.
Today, while our name has evolved to NCA Catamarans, our commitment remains exactly the same:
